The Business Strategist Role

The Business Strategist is responsible for developing strategic plans that will help improve an organization to reach its goals and targets and improve profitability. You will analyze existing business structure, strategies, ongoing activities and provide recommendations for improvements. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key partners and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the client, providing objective counsel and expert guidance

  • Review all relevant business documentation to evaluate client’s current state

  • Lead workshops with the clients to document existing processes, challenges and opportunities

  • Develop unique questionnaires to interview executives, employees and customers to uncover what is working and what needs to be evaluated for improvements

  • Understand and document the client’s business goals, objectives, and strategies

  • Conduct research on the client’s industry, competitors, and target markets

  • Develop a deep understanding of the client’s products and services

  • Identify client differentiation and unique market opportunities, create positioning strategies

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to set the vision and develop go-to-market strategies

  • Identify opportunities for the client to grow their business and increase market share

  • Identify environmental factors that could impact the organization’s ability to achieve its goals, and recommend solutions to mitigate risk

  • Develop an organization’s culture and strategic direction by developing mission statements, values statements, and operational frameworks

  • Create detailed reports and presentations documenting findings and recommendations

  • Adjust plans and strategies as the client’s business evolves over time

  • Keep abreast of industry trends and share relevant insights with the client

  • Measure the success of business strategies through metrics such as revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and employee retention rates

  • Provide ongoing advisory support with management to help them achieve their business objectives

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, MBA preferred

  • 3-5 years' in business strategy or management consulting

  • Strategic Thinker – experience creating business strategies

  • Communication – experience working with Executive or Senior level leaders

  • Exceptional analytical skills – evaluate data to make informed decisions

  • Business acumen – ability to understand business environment & predict future trends

  • The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business strategy and consulting and a quick thinker with the ability to adapt to changing market conditions.

  • Experience with lean methodology and agile development processes

  • Experience with Investor Relations preferred
